Technology and Safety
The XC60 runs an 11.2-inch touchscreen with Google Built-In, giving drivers Google Assistant, Google Maps, and Google Play natively. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are wired. The Q5 installs a 14.5-inch MMI display, and wireless CarPlay and Android Auto come standard across all trims.
The XC60's safety suite at Core level includes Pilot Assist (combined lane-centering and adaptive cruise control), blind-spot intervention with steering correction, rear cross-traffic alert with automatic braking, and front and rear parking sensors. All of these are standard on every XC60.
The Q5 includes forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking and lane departure warning on all trims. The 360-degree camera, adaptive cruise control, and dashcam are standard on Premium Plus and Prestige but require the Convenience Package on the base Premium trim. Rear emergency automatic braking is standard only on Prestige. Buyers who want the Q5's full safety suite need to step past the entry trim.
On the audio side, the XC60 Ultra carries a 14-speaker Harman Kardon system, and the Polestar Engineered brings 15 speakers from Bowers and Wilkins. The Q5's Bang and Olufsen system on Premium Plus uses 19 speakers (16 per Audi's own documentation) and is a genuine high point for audio enthusiasts.
