The Volvo S90 is the Luxury Sedan That You Deserve

There are lots of options for car shoppers looking to buy a model in the luxury sedan class, but none can match how perfectly tailored the Volvo S90 feels for each and every driver. It gives you choices on lots of features, exquisite materials, and other design aspects so that your car feels unique to you, but lots of great qualities, like style, convenience, and performance, come standard no matter the configuration you choose.

We seek to take all the hassles out of the car-buying process of our customers, and it starts with making sure they end up with the car they deserve. To prove that that car is the Volvo S90, we compared it to other popular models of the luxury sedan class, the Infiniti Q70, the BMW 5-Series, and the Mercedes-Benz E-Class

The Volvo S90 vs. The Infiniti Q70

  • No matter which row of seats you end up in, the Volvo S90 is a joy to ride in. It has more leg, head, and hip room for rear row passengers than the Infiniti Q70, so they are less likely to complain about feeling cramped when in the back seats.

  • Going a step further for passenger comfort, the Volvo S90 offers heated and ventilated seats for the front and rear seats as well as offering four-zone climate control, so every passenger has the perfect heating or A/C setting for them. The Infiniti Q70 only offers dual-zone climate control and climate controlled front seats.

  • The Volvo S90 comes standard with an engine that gets an EPA-estimated 24 mpg city/ 34 mpg highway for a combined rating of 27 mpg, which easily bests the Infiniti Q70's EPA-estimated 18 mpg city/ 25 mpg highway for a combined rating of 21 mpg.

  • For even more efficiency, the Volvo S90 offers a plug-in hybrid that can go for 21 miles using only the electric motor, which gives it an MPGe of 71 miles per gallon. The Infiniti Q70 offers a hybrid, but it doesn't come anywhere close to that efficiency.
  • Only the Volvo S90 comes standard with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and offers other technology like a head-up display, which all combine to make driving, from seeing important info to using mobile apps, as convenient as possible.

  • Both offer innovative safety features like blind spot monitoring, pre-collision braking, adaptive cruise control, and lane keep assist, but while the Infiniti Q70 makes you pay extra for these features, they come standard on every trim of the Volvo S90.

The Volvo S90 vs. The Mercedes-Benz E-Class

  • Not only do passengers fit more comfortably in the Volvo S90, thanks to its generous amount of legroom for each of the two rows, but luggage or other items you store in the cargo area will too as it is larger than the trunk of the Mercedes-Benz E-Class.

  • The Volvo S90 offers a four-cylinder engine that is ready to captivate drivers with 316 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque, which are both more impressive power specs than the 241-horsepower four-cylinder engine of the Mercedes-Benz E-Class.

  • It's the luxury that the Volvo S90 delivers to each passenger that sets it apart from competitors, and that's most noticeable with the heated and ventilated seats it offers for the rear row, which the Mercedes-Benz E-Class does not do.

  • The standard safety features of the Volvo S90, which range from features to help you park to headlights that bend around corners as you turn the wheel, are always looking out for you. The Mercedes-Benz E-Class doesn't come standard with many of these features.

The Volvo S90 vs. The BMW 5-Series

  • Taller passengers are sure to enjoy the added legroom in each of the two rows of the Volvo S90 while they might have to scrunch up their legs in the more confining BMW 5-Series.

  • The standard engines of the two are fairly similar in power specs, with the Volvo S90 having an edge in horsepower, but while the Volvo S90 reaches these specs on regular gas, the BMW 5-Series requires premium gas.

  • Both models offer a plug-in hybrid model, but the Volvo S90's doesn't compromise power to give you efficiency as it still packs 400 horsepower and 472 pound-feet of torque, which blows the 248 horsepower and 310 pound-feet of torque of the BMW 5-Series out of the water.

  • The Volvo S90 reaches a level of luxury and passenger comfort that is unmatched as it offers ventilated and heated seats for each row of seats and a back-massage function for the front row, so the driver is always in the right state of mind. The BMW 5-Series does not offer this much comfort on non-M Performance models.

  • The Volvo S90 comes standard with the Pilot Assist system, which uses the sensors of safety features like the Blind Spot Information System, Adaptive Cruise Control, and Lane Keeping Assist, to deliver semi-autonomous driving, which the BMW 5-Series does not offer standard.
