Performance in the Volvo EX90
The EX90 is expected to deliver outstanding acceleration and the curb weight will be higher than the gasoline-powered XC90. Volvo is reporting that the Twin Motor version should be able to hit a zero-to-60 mph run in 5.7 seconds and the Twin Motor Performance configuration will go even faster at 4.7 seconds.
Driving range in the new Volvo EX90
The new Volvo EX90 will be packing a 111-kilowatt battery on board that should deliver around 300 miles per charge. DC fast charging capability will come standard and will need as little as 30 minutes to take the battery from 10% up to 80%. The architecture in this new model will allow you to do bi-directional charging, which means you can connect it to your house to provide power for appliances if your household electricity goes out.
What's the charging time for the Volvo EX90?
The Volvo EX90 will be able to charge in about five hours using a 240-volt connection. In addition, we recommend that you don't try to do too much fast-charging since that can reduce battery life. Then again, that's just part of the planning process that's required when purchasing an EV.
