Performance & Power
The
Volvo XC60 comes standard with a potent T5 engine that makes 250-horsepower.
The available T6 engine makes an even-more-potent 316-horsepower. The T8
engine makes 400-horsepower. The BMW X3, by contrast, comes standard with a
248-horsepower base engine but offers an upgraded turbocharged six-cylinder
making 355-horsepower.
Safety Features
Volvo
is well-known for being one of the safest automakers around. The new Volvo XC60
fits into Volvo's long heritage of safety innovation well, offering several
advanced safety systems that keep you and your passengers more secure, wherever
you travel. From run-off road mitigation and protection to a driver drowsiness
monitor, the XC60 provides a wide-range of standard safety technology. The BMW
X3, meanwhile, also boasts a backup camera, rear parking sensors, and several
active safety features of its own.
Style & Space
A
triumph of Scandinavian style, the new Volvo XC60 offers a clean exterior with
fluid lines, attractive LED headlights, and sculptural touches throughout.
Inside, the XC60 is not only rich in luxury touches like premium leather
upholstery, but also conveniences like an easy-loading cargo area with over
63.3 total cubic feet of cargo space (versus the X3's roughly 63 cubic foot
cargo area), and plenty of cargo cubbies throughout the cabin.
Technology & Infotainment

With
Volvo Sensus infotainment, it's easier than ever before to connect to your
favorite music, apps, and multimedia. Every XC60 boasts a large 9-inch
touchscreen infotainment system, making controlling your audio, climate
control, and other vehicle functions a cinch. Compare that to the BMW X3, which
provides a 6.5-inch touchscreen iDrive infotainment interface, and it's clear
to see that the Volvo XC60 sits on the cutting-edge of technology. What's more,
while the X3 offers Apple CarPlayâ„¢ as an option, the Volvo XC60 offers both
Apple CarPlayâ„¢ and Android Autoâ„¢ as standard features.
